Dr Edward Beesley, Chiropractor
Ed is from Macclesfield, Cheshire, and qualified as a Chiropractor with Distinction from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth.
From a young age, Ed was fascinated by science and biology, in particular natural history. It was this interest that would later lead him to choose to study Chiropractic – a discipline that places the greatest value on the body’s ability to heal itself in a natural, drug-free way.
Along the way he has pursued many other interests too, however. Coming from a musical family, he learned piano and trombone from the age of 6; achieving Distinction in both by the age of 16. And as his native Macclesfield is on the doorstep of the peak district, it was an ideal base from which to explore the countryside of the UK in countless hiking and camping expeditions during his teens.
Another passion for Ed was languages, and after leaving school he spent a year living in France – first teaching English in a French Sixth Form in Lyon, and then working on a campsite in the picturesque Dordogne region.
During the following four years at Chiropractic College, he found time to work hard but also purse his passion for music, playing regularly at soirees and live music events as one half of his pop duo, “Janice and the Eggplant”. In his final year at college, he also worked as a mentor to first year students, teaching physiology and anatomy.
For his first positions as a fully qualified Chiropractor, Ed returned to the North of England, living in Manchester for three years and gaining valuable experience in clinical practice in a thriving Chiropractic clinic in Northwich. He also realised another long-held ambition during this time, acting in a number of local theatrical productions, including the lead role in “A Streetcar Named Desire”, Noel Coward’s “Design For Living”, and Dionysos in “The Bacchae”.
After three years in Manchester, Ed decided it was time to move on; he stuck a pin in a map and ended up in Hong Kong. He spent two exciting years there working as a Chiropractor in Central Hong Kong, serving a mixture of the local population and expats. He also arranged and delivered outreach events, such as offering chiropractic treatment at sports events including Dragon Boat Racing; giving Spinal Health Awareness talks in the community; and lecturing to Nursing Students to raise awareness amongst other health care professions and educate about Chiropractic.
In November 2017, Ed moved to London to work in a busy North London practice. Ed specializes in spinal and extremity pain as well as sports injuries.
In his spare time, he’s continued his passion for music by becoming a member of the prestigious London Symphony Chorus. He’s also proud to have won his local pub quizzes in Manchester and Hong Kong, but has yet to have any luck in London especially Canary Wharf!
